Memo To Mitchell: How About Giving A Super-Upvote Button To The Top #100 Trending Authors On Steemit To Allow Them Consensus Alongside The Witnesses?

The best people who can the word out about Steemit are the end-users, so why not give those users (the content creators) consensus with a super-upvote button - say for the top #100 Trending authors on Steemit. Give the platform an injection of freedom so that everyone on the platform can have a say on the day to day issues of Steemit (and thus make them feel empowered to spread the Steemit word even further!)
Content creators are the best spreaders of word on Steemit, so if they are given similar rights to witnesses then the fusion of geeks and artists will be complete to allow a platform that truly listens to its end-users. Therefore:
Geeks (witnesses) + artists (us) = a more empowered platform!!

Hey there, Mitchell here. Thanks for the warm welcome! This certainly seems like an interesting idea. Right now we're focused on specific updates that will open the platform up. This is because in the long run, product always wins. So most effort is being put toward making a fundamentally better product.
Personally, I'm interested in some kind of live curation function. I'm thinking we should be gathering product improvements ideas like this in one place. Something to consider in the near future, as there will be a time when these ideas will be perfect to test.

Definitely worth considering!
Cynical mode: I'm afraid that when consensus on something is needed, we'll see the same power-play shuffling by the big wallets of the consentees as we have seen with the witnesses; expect to see a whole new set of top-100 authors when something important is afoot.
Switching to # Post count instead will eliminate that one - many whales have low post counts. Plus its the top 100 hardest workers on Steemit were talking here! Let them speak instead!
P.S. I know which wires to cut to defuse your cynicism ;)
