If a video goes viral on Steemit does it have the potential to make someone an overnight millionare?? Thoughts

Hi steemit, shower thought here

Lets take the original Charlie bit my finger, this video has 841 million views and 1.5 million up votes.  Not counting the video views and just going by likes, lets say the average steemer generates 0.15 cents per like.

The video would have made the 250,000 dollars, I think this number is being conservative as the steemit ecosystem revolves more on up voting to generate profit whereas Youtube relies on video views.

I know the Steemit user-base is to small now, but maybe in a couple years we will be seeing people making lots of cash.

I don't think that someone could get $1 Million of 1 Post yet, there just aren't enough users with that kind of STEEM Power yet. But in 1 year, 2 years, when there are a lot more people who have been earning money for a year or 2, then it will be possibly to get $1 Million of 1 Post. The platform just has to grow.

He did mention that he was talking years out, at the end of his post.

The rewards are actually a function of the market cap rather than the userbase. They exist to attract users to bootstrap the network (similar to how Bitcoin bootstrapped with the coinbase reward for miners). In effect it's investors in Steem and Steem Power who are funding this, and thus if there is a big speculative bubble in SteemIt, you could actually see $1 million rewards before the actual userbase is here.
