Helping boost new users on Steemit
When I was a little girl, there was a big community of bigger kids. Of course I looked up to them all, they were all bigger than me. Mainly, because I was an adventurous little tyke and always going off without telling my mum where I was going, I was the littlest of the little, easy to lose and run away from. The other little kids stayed close to home.
At the end of the row where we lived, was a HUGE high wall and only the biggest of the bigger kids could climb that wall without help. I wasn't even big enough to be considered worth helping and I stood at the bottom of the wall as everyone else sat on the top, looking down at me. I didn't want to 'bugger off back' to where the littler kids were overseen all the time, I wanted, demanded, my independence.
Yeah, it was only a little run to the end of the wall, but that's not the point. The advantage the mid-big kids got from the biggest kids was enormous - enough to allow them to see the wonderful playing field beyond.
This morning I noticed something. We have a community of 'tiny little kids' here who need a boost to be able to see over the wall.
I've recommended a few friends to Steemit and some have joined and become quite popular on here. Some joined but didn't post much - if at all - and some have remained littlest of the little.
One of my self-imposed jobs then, is to give a bit of a boost so they can see over that wall.
I resteemed a few people today - not all are known to me - in fact, I only recognise one, but their numbers increased massively once I brought them to the attention of my group of 'big kids'.
Come on, Steemit, let's give a big hand...
See what I did there?

Nicely done Michelle.
I'm encouraging people to join on my side of the pond as well; with everyone helping one another and promoting Steemit, there's no limit!
I'm doing a longer-term promotion I think. Keeping my eye on a few at once, see how it all goes.
well said and resteemed
Cheers! Every little helps ;)
::nods emphatically::
I love helping other people. I've not given up on doing #followfriday but lately my focus has been on greater need through #payitforward
Keep up the great work @michelle.gent Help the littlest of the littles see over that wall!
Another pair of great tags. That gives me an idea...
Well done, I will check out the posts you resteemed
Awesome! Thank you :)
I agree this is the way to help people to get going.
It seems to be working too! My medium-sized boost got a couple of extra votes for some of them (I think/hope).
