No no, STEEM is not a Token, it´s a cryptocurrency with it´s own blockchain. The SMTs will enable smart media contracts and the creation of tokens on the STEEM blockchain. 👍
This will attract new startups to use the STEEM blockchain for creating new payment tokens, doing ICO´s etc. and this is helping STEEM & Steemit to grow even more faster than now
SMTs also have the possibility of mainstream media content producer to move over to the blockchain to create an ecosystem with their content in the search of monetizing a user base theough their attention rather than ads.
