Why does my post lose 25% after the payout?

If you are like me, and you don’t bother reading the user manual before using an appliance, you might have missed some point on how work Steemit.

Here is an image that shows you the distribution of the Steem generated.

It took me six days to figure out, yeah I know what you think :-)

Good to know !

@metrox The system was built so the total reward value is split as you show in the picture above. 75% goes to the author, and unless there was a change since the last fork of that 75% paid to the author it is (or was) a 75% SBD to 25% SP split. Lots of changes recently since the last fork. I understand it's still a beta but watching the price of STEEM and SBD on Poloniex speaks volumes about the sustainability of such a model. The SBD to 1 USD pegged ratio is not holding as planned and an SBD is currently only worth about 0.83 USD.

While 17% off the mark isn't bad, it's not a great sign either... Here's a graph of the 10 days since it went live on Poloniex.

Like most ICO's and Crypto's first listed on an exchange, it skyrocketed, and then plunged until it stabilized at 83% of what was expected to be a 1:1 SBD to USD pegged ratio.

Now that there's a 7 day wait to convert SBD to STEEM which has taken an even bigger fall. I suspect the 7 day hold may partially be the cause of the massive sell trend of STEEM and the price plummet in the past 24 hours.

If an aproximate 12.5% drop happened in just 24 hours? One can only guess and gamble at what it will be in 7 days. Caveat Emptor my friends...

75% SBD / 25% SP, I am not sure about this, look at this stat of one of my post. https://www.steemimg.com/image/IKj9K
