SOLAR/INVERTER SYSTEM IN NIGERIA AND THE NUMEROUS CHALLENGES FACED BY THIS INDUSTRY
Hi there #steemit community,
well am new at this and want to see how it works out with my writing articles with regards to things i do for a living.
the name is Meje Obofukoro an Electrical/Electronic Engineer by profession and the alternative energy system with emphasis to solar systems is one aspect of my life that i have come to appreciate with the wealth of experience i have gathered in the past 8 years.
Of course my niche here is the Nigerian market and so far i have traversed locations from Lagos state to Ekiti state to Delta State to Imo State to Anambra State to Rivers State. Locations in which i have done various levels of solar systems installations in various capacities and various levels of challenges.
But in all my findings thus far there are quite a few things which i found in common with regards to my clientele which i believe installers like me should have at the back of their minds for better working relationships with the clientele.
As we all know things are not so rosy in Nigeria presently so before a customer decides he really needs a solar system installed in his house you should respect the fact that he has made up his mind to carry out a huge capital investment which he the client will benefit both short and medium term; with that said you need to take out time to educate the client properly on the pros and cons of the solar/inverter system so they are fully aware of what they are about to go into
Make them see the need to be energy efficient in their consumption of power with respect to turning off appliances that are not in immediate use to conserve battery bank power, to ensure their lighting systems are all changed to the most energy efficient lighting system available.......thats a discussion for another day
Educate them on precautionary measures that need to be in place to protect the installed system as the cost of installation is relatively high in the short term so they can maximise every single dime they have spent out on this project.
As is common with most clients they actually fell they know it all.......so you as the installer need to be very patient with them and win their trust and make them see the entire process in its entirety and before long they realize they really have a lot to learn.......that is where professionalism comes in on your part as the installer and customer satisfaction gets very solid with as simple as an act of simple down to earth explanation.
Well i will take a break here.......and like i said am new to all this but will do my best to come around every other day updating from where i stopped so please keep a date with this space as it promises to be a really interesting ride all the way
