This is probably an afterthought with the great changes coming to Steemit but...
What if the Re-Steem function cost a tiny fraction of voting power? Why should we pay for something that is free now? To give it more value? Discourage people re-steeming themselves with thousands of alts slightly. You could still have alts all re post some posts but to do it over and over would lower their vote weight accordingly since if they are Re-Steeming themselves they are surely up-voting.
Interesting idea. However then should a resteem also increase rewards, like votes would.
I also feel that a resteem is more valuable than a vote soni think if there is cost and value from it it ahouls be aignificantly higher than a vote.
it is more valuable to the one you resteem. I just think making it cost a little to do instead of totally free to the resteemer would make resteem more valuable to both parties. Saying in the same manner of an upvote that you are willing to incur a slight vp cost to share their content rather than just for the curation reward

I actually like the idea, but maybe make it cost a % of its current rewards, so the ones who re-steem it early get the most out of it and maybe some re-steem rewards like curation would be great too.
Could definitely be further improved.
