I agree with your assessment. We also have to consider that Justin Sun bought Steem at a Time where Ned had to sell for the lowest price possible. Ned was in a weak position and Justin Sun made a great decision by buying up his direct competitor and take advantage of its active community. If Steem will be successful, with Justin as a leader, or if Steem fails ether way Justin and Tron will profit from the outcome.
