Whats with all the crypto talk?

Hi, I just stumbled upon steemit yesterday and thought it was amazing. You get paid to post things you like, It's like living the dream. I do, however, notice a trend. What is with all the crytocurrency talk? I mean, it feels like 90% of the post I see in trending, new and hot are about crytos
