I believe that each platform has its mission in society. We write in several of them so far without any compensation. In steemit you can not write the same way you write on other platforms. Steemit is more demanding. You need a theme, and a good wording if you want to get accepted. Logically pay for it makes the platform more attractive because it motivates to do it better and better.
