Steemit and 501(3)c Organizations or even Local Governments

Steemit is very new. But as more and more people join Steemit, the possibilities are going to open up. Think about this, say Steemit user lived in a Town where the next Katrina hit, or the next Flint Michigan happened. Instead of just likes or upvotes or views, we can give them something of actual value. And say the American Red Cross, or some other Organizations start making Steemit accounts, they could make posts from every disaster they go to and say "All proceeds of this Post will go to the Disaster Fund". It could save families, rebuild houses, and bring supplies when something hits. Below is a picture of Aid Workers during Katrina, but  think about if the Red Cross had made a Steemit post, asking everyone just to click the Vote button to help the people effected by the Hurricane. There have also been recent Floods in West Virginia, and Tornadoes in Texas, and Fires in Canada and California.

And think about if other Non-Profit Organizations started making profiles, if Voting became a way to Donate to your favorite causes. Churches could join Steemit, Museums could join Steemit, maybe even Governments.

Say a Local Government wanted to be completely transparent, let's say it's your town. The Mayor and anyone else necessary to make decisions like that in your hometown (a Council? a Town Manager? Whoever it is) makes the decision that they are going to create a Forum for the Town on the BlockChain using Steemit, and that citizens (or whoever wants to participate) can upvote different projects that they want to see funded in the Town. So they promote the use of their towns tag, and make a link on their website that goes directly to their Steemit blog, and allows people to upvote whatever projects they want. Eventually the town would be making $10,000 posts just by nature of the participation of the citizens. Because they will all be sharing posts with each other that are Specific to their town, and Upvoting Posts related to their Towns projects, but everyone else is Upvoting their stuff just because it is getting popular, or it is in the New Feed and looks interesting. So they will get those votes, along with the votes of the Town's Citizens as their accounts grow, and they will all be making a good amount of money just by all Upvoting each other's posts.

Anyone that wants to start a Project or something they would post on GoFundMe, they will now start posting on Steemit also, so Steemit will be funding new Inventions. GoFundMe has facilitated the invention of many many things, people just post the concept on the Website, and then the Donations go towards the creation of that new thing.

Steemit could really have some potential that hasn't even been tapped yet. This could be the future of Healthcare, or the Future of Scholarships. I am not sure if anyone knows what Alms are anymore, but what Alms are is when you give money to the poor. It started in Ancient times, and is still held in most Religions today. In Hinduism giving money to the Poor is tied to Karma, in Christianity it is tied to Tithing or being a Good Samaritan, In Buddhism it is what keeps the Monks Fed and Training, it is recognized in almost every Religion, and the General term for it is Alms.

In modern Times if someone does not have money, people may think that that person did something wrong to get in their position. That they must have messed up somehow. But it used to be okay to give money to the poor, it used to be important to give money to the poor even.

Steemit could bring these types of concepts back to the modern World.
