 This  theory suggests that we have many memories that come to us from  different aspects of our lives, not just our own experiences, but also  the memories from the films and pictures we have seen, and the books we  read. We can have very strong memories of these things. Without having to experience it in reality. Over time, these memories  are stored in our minds, and when we deal with something very similar to  one of those memories, we may feel the feeling of the deja vu.

For  example, in childhood you might have seen a movie that had a famous  restaurant scene, or a famous tourist landmark, and then when you became  an adult, you visited the same place without remembering the movie, but  this place seemed very familiar to you.
