Steemit Tutorial 1: Creating An Account on Steemit [VIDEO]

in #steemit8 years ago

Hi guys, this is Chris Coney the founder of Cryptoversity.com and the host of the daily podcast The Cryptoverse.

After creating a couple of structured courses on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies I now turn my attention to Steemit. Specifically to create 'The Complete Steemit Course - A Comprehensive Guide To Making A Living For Fun'.

My intention is to release each lesson on Steemit as they are created.
I will do this up until I have created the final lesson.

What I would normally do at that point is package it up and begin selling it across the 6 distribution platforms that I have access to (Cryptoversity.com, Udemy etc).

However I'm going to do an experiment. I'm going to open up the opportunity for the first ever Steemit 'Crowdbuy' (as opposed to Crowdsale).

This means that if the collective earnings from Steemit during this experiment tip over the $30,000 mark then I will release the course completely free online to everyone. This includes free access for everyone who visits Cryptoversity.com and everyone who listens to The Cryptoverse daily podcast.

The potential to increase the number of Steemit users is significant since it removes the risk of people being put off because they don't know what they are doing.

The reason I'll release the course for free is because at that point the community has effectively paid for the course to be created.

I have set the tipping point at $30,000 because that's what I can earn by selling the course through my network of distributors.

I want to support Steemit, but just giving away a $30,000 product without any compensation would be insane. I'd be better off just selling the course and buying Steem.

So this is going to be a process of, incremental give and take.

This is an experiment like I said, so if this 'give and take' clearly doesn't work from the start (or stops working mid way) then I'll just revert back to my original plan to sell the course.

I'm not particularly invested in the outcome because I've got my regular course rollout plan to fall back on, so I'm going to make the $30k either way, I just thought this would be something new to try out.

So let's begin with Lesson 1: Creating An Account

I estimate there will be about 30 lessons to make this a 'comprehensive' course so $1,000 per lesson is the benchmark for keeping an eye on how this project is going.

Let's see how we get on. Over to you :)
