Maybe it's just me but there was a big standstill near the $0.40 mark which I also noticed was around the same time of the hardfork21 announcement it seems many are unsure about this change, also if you think about it seems those who invest now will regardless at first lose %10 or more because of the changes, those who are interested may be waiting to see how this pans out. Many have talked about selling their Steem due to the changes coming, perhaps this is why the price as been going down and not so much because of Bitcoins.
I believe nobody actually knows yet there was a talk with most of the top 20 witnesses and nobody mentioned a date, I think this is because Steemit INC are not sure themselves as they are still looking into possible other features.
