Fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives as Christians.

Greetings my brethren. Our God is worthy to be praised and worshiped for who He is and for all He has done for us in the past, for what He is doing for us now and for what he will do for us in the future. Let us join the twenty-four elders to worship Him:

Today, I would like us to look at what it means to live a life of purpose as a Christian. We are born through the purpose of God and for His purpose. We do not discover our life’s meaning by looking within ourselves. We did not create ourselves, so we cannot look inwards to find out our purpose. Only our Creator can reveal our purpose to us. We can learn of His purpose for us through His owner’s manual: The Bible, so it is only in God that we can truly understand and find ourselves.

Are we fulfilling the purpose of God on earth? Christ wants us to live as light on earth. Are we living as light? Are we reflecting the glory of God? Christ came not just to give us salvation, but to teach us how to fulfill purpose by living a life of righteousness, holiness, purity, obedience, integrity, and love.

Ephesians 4: 1-6 states “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

We must show our new life in Christ as exemplified through the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Our lives as body of believers should show oneness and unity. We should avoid all forms of strife, discord and disunity.

God is the source of our life, to discover our life’s purpose we must go back to His Word, not the wisdom of the world. Ephesians 1: 11-12 says “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up
