@luvabi May I offer a suggestion? Not sure if it's possible. But there are becoming more and more bots that if you pay them, they will upvote you. I say they are a scam. Only one making $$ are the ones collecting the 2 SBD each time. Now there is a bot that if you pay it hundreds of SBD it will give you one upvote. They are getting out of control.
I would like to see a tool that keeps these bots honest. For example. I tried Randowhale one time. It was advertising a 1% to 50% upvote. I tried it 1 time and got the 1% upvote. There should only be a 2% chance of someone getting 1% (on a scale of 1 to 50). If 10% or 30% or 50% of people are getting 1% or 2%, then it is a scam and not random at all. If the percentage are correct, then there will be proof these are random and not rigged.
The second part has to do with the payout. Of those getting upvotes, how much is that upvote generating them? In my case it generated I think .30 sbd. I get 3/4 = .22 sbd. Half of that goes to steempower so I really net .11 SBD for my 2 SBD. Bad investment.
In conclusion, a tool that will give transparency to these bots so people will know if they are random or programmed to rip you off, and a tool that will average out what you may make so others can decide if these bots are profitable.
Get back to me with numbers.. I would love this information.
UPDATE
@davidk's post here is a good example. 3.7% upvote from Randowhale. total payout now is 3.6 SBD. Of that 2.7 goes to the author. Wondering of how much of that 2.7 came from Randowhale to determine a ROI.Good suggestion but the thing with these bots is it's up to you if you want to use them. Scam or not. I think these were created with the purpose of helping and creating something to say that it doesn't add value to the community is counter productive. It will just spread negative thoughts and energy.
True. Same with Ponzi schemes. Nobody forces people to give these scammers their money but people do. That's why I think its good for the Steemit community to have transparency. For people to know what they are putting their hard earned money into.
So far there is no documented proof they actually work. People are told "just put your money in and find out". Just like gambling. Some Steemians, don't want to gamble with their money.
Especially a newbie who comes here and spend SBD on this and gets nothing back, they will leave this place and maybe give the place a bad reputation. So I think it's up to all of us to protect this community and giving these bots transparency will help the community NOT hurt it (unless they really are scamming people).
Anyway, I just wanted to throw out an idea for a Steemit tool that could really help the community. If it's not up your alley, that's OK. Good luck on your search and would love to see what idea you do come up with.
Yes sorry I'm not a very confrontational person..It is exactly like gambling but with free money. Good luck to you also.
