As a noob how can I even make a dent

Being new to the site I'm finding it very hard together followers or get votes the people that have got thousands of followers never repost and their stuff is always in the trending. What hope is there for someone who is new to the site when no one helps I push replies no one ever responds I would love someone to give me their input Nice to Meet You All #steemians
