Upvote if you changed your Owner Password, Active Password, Posting Password, and Memo Password

Bonus points if you also walked your significant other through the process step-by-step.

Celebrate with me if you get this meme:

If you don't get it, please, for the love of the Internet, go get yourself a secure password management program right now. I personally use 1Password and love it.

  • Never reuse passwords.
  • Never memorize your passwords (other than the one for your password manager, of course).
  • Never fall for phishing attacks again (thank you, browser plugin!)
  • Let your password manager generate your passwords.

Thus ends this public service announcement.
You may now continue your regularly scheduled Steeming.

I've tried but had issues. I may ping you tomorrow. I only log on using my posting key so I should be safe in the meantime.

I would love to set different passwords for each, but cannot! Can't even get an aswer as to why not ... Just like 95% of Steemians, our posts go unseen. https://steemit.com/steemit/@sandwich/having-issues-creating-separate-passwords-for-owner-and-active-posting-meta-keys-is-this-still-possible

I just linked to your post in the Slack channel. I'm not sure what changes are temporary and what changes are permanent. One thing I'm sure of, there will always be change. Please report back if you get it figured out.

There are ways around a password manager. I memorize all my passwords and so can you. With memory techniques you can remember very secure and long passwords. Today I posted about a new free ebook from a memory coach friend of mine. Follow me for more about memory and get the book as long as it is free: https://steemit.com/security/@flauwy/new-ebook-free-for-limited-time-the-hack-proof-password-system
