Truth. Many people do come in to SteemIt hoping to earn a lot fast. This is mostly due to people, whales predominantly, like Jerry Banfield for example, advertising SteemIt and making it seem like a 'get-rich-quick' thing. I do agree with you: the decentralised nature of this site and the whole blockchain technology is an amazing step-up from other sites like Facebook and Reddit. However, the money part of this still holds... Afterall, when you take away the platform, it is based on a crypto currency, and thus money plays a big role in this. Needless to say, I am not defending people who post anything and everything just to get upvotes, people who spam the comment sections with 'follow me plz', and other chancers on here. If a person is looking to both grow as a content creator and share their work, whilst also earning money - the income steadily increasing overtime - then this place is perfect for them. Nice post man!
