@denmarkguy had a good post re the future of developing steemit, and keeping promotion through buying votes, out of messing things up.

It's quite simple - anyone using bought votes/bots (and i think self upvoting to),
.....goes straight to a promotion page (already exists), and taken off any other feeds/tags...

Leaving content providers playing on a level playing field ( i think, kind of)...
