Cool app, savvy wallet UI - dodgy dealings - beware!

I installed the freewallet.org STEEM wallet on my Android phone a while back. 

Tried to move some STEEM from Steemit into the app. Easy and quick! 

Did not see the notice that "transactions are temporarily unavailable" since June 17. It has been about 5 days and my transfer out to Poloniex is still stuck. 

Customer support has replied on Twitter with a very generic response:

It seems quite a few other users have had the same experience with their "product". I would advise anyone to stay away from these so called "wallets". On closer investigation you cannot backup your wallet to any other storage device. Big warning flag! Also, the wallet is actually cloud hosted which means they have control of your funds as from their support page:

Gave them a one star rating (couldn't do zero!) on the Google Play Store and they replied with some standard hogwash:

Logically the Steem blockchain seems to be working fine elsewhere, why should they be having issues with it?
