Steemit Equality Proposal: Introducing Steem Power Limit to Maxiumum of 5000 And Daily Earnings Cap To 5000SD
Here is my solution.
Steemit could introduce the cap of maximum, "voting effective" Steem Power to about 5000.
Past 5000, Steem Power should not have any impact on voting, but it should keep it's value share in the blockchain/value towards future Powering Down. So if you have 40k of Steem Power, only 5000k os SP is "voting effective", and 50k is effective towards your value share in blockchain/future Powering Down.
Also Steemit should introduce daily cap of Steem Dollars. We shouldn't be allowed to earn more than 5000 SD a day, from our posts. That is, of course before at least 50% of it being shared with others, who voted on your posts. So your maximum, actual, daily earnings would br probably <2500SD.
That way, Steemit would be more equal towards everyone and would force the GREED to stop at certain limit.
Of course, I am certain that majority of whales would not like this idea. 2500SD a day would not fund their potential life of luxury.
EDIT: If someone has been working on some, well developed project for Steemit, for a long and invested a lot of personal resources into it, then they should be allowed to repost their post for up to 7 days, in order to multiply 2500SD by up to 7 times. Before being allowed to do so, there should be introduced transparent voting "Yes/No" option for all Steemit members to decide under this particular post, if the creator is allowed to repost it for 7 days.
In this voting, everyone should have equal voting right and no voter with reputation lower than 6 should be allowed to vote. Also, every vote should be left with coherent comment (at least 100 characters), explaining why they voted that way.
That way it all seems more just.

Something needs to be done; I am already fed up with the inequality in the world, and I am not about to put my faith into a system, that after six months is this dependant on the "Top 1%".

Why reputation 6? What would you say if somebody offered reputation 7?
You ask for equality but reputation matters. Why?
Yes, reputation mattes. It does not take long to get reputation of 6. By default you get 5, when you open your account. Reputation of 6 would keep fake acounts of being able to vote on such proposal.
By default you get 1 when you open your account.
Hi, I just thought I'd mention why you can't cap SP: it would mean that someone with 10000 SP would be able to double their influence by splitting their SP into two accounts with 5000 each. It wouldn't make things more equal, but it would give people a powerful new incentive to hide how unequal things are.
They could do that. You are right but it would be very tedious work for someone who has a lot of Steem Power. They would need to open dozens or hundreds of accounts and log in to each one of them to vote.
They would pay someone to write a computer program to do all the logging in for them. If there's a way around it, they would find it.
Then we have to find a solution to it too. For example, maybe it could require user to have been actively positng on Steemit for few weeks, so they would progresssivle earn the ability to use more and more of their Steem Power, up to reaching ability to use all 5000 SP after few months.
