White hat hacker Ang Cui shows us how to hack “embedded devices”.
Embedded Devices are devices which contain computing systems, that you wouldn’t necessarily consider as computers.
Ang Cui shows how he can turn an office phone or printer into a bugging device using malware he called “funtenna.” This exploit makes the equipment transmit data over radio frequencies so it can be picked up by an antenna, without hacker's need to go anywhere near the hacked device.
