How is Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, analysis: we tested the new smartwatch on video

Amazfit today presented the new Amazfit GTR 3, GTS 3, and GTR 3 Pro, its new high-end watches.

It must be made clear that they are products designed to have great autonomy, so they do not use complete operating systems. We already told you that there are only two types of smartwatches, and there is no one better than the other.

The best of the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro

The best thing about the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is the same as its predecessors, autonomy. We have done several tests and we have verified that with normal use we have about 10 days of battery life.

It is important to note that we have carried it without the screen always on, although we have spoken on the phone, we have received many notifications and we have consulted applications and information on it.

The design is another of its strengths, not because of its innovation, but because of how discreet and elegant it is, which helps to always be able to wear it.

In addition, the control with the crown helps to avoid having to always touch the screen. And we cannot close this section without talking about the screen, which has taken a huge leap from previous years' models. Higher resolution, higher quality ...

The icing on the cake is a speaker and a microphone that allow us to speak from the clock, something that for me is already mandatory.

The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is not perfect

Although in general, we liked this watch, as you can see, some things are missing.

The specification sheet that the company sent us indicates that it has 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. However, it has been impossible for us to see it in the settings, where only the Bluetooth was. This has meant that the firmware updates have taken a long time, and it has not crossed our minds to put a lot of music on the clock.

The design is not a problem, but the quality of the materials does not quite convey the good feeling we have in other watches of similar price. It is striking because the dial is made of aluminum, a metal that is not at all problematic. The thing is, it doesn't feel very premium to the touch.

On the other hand, we expected a greater availability of applications in Zepp OS, but it is something that we will only be able to test later when they arrive at the store integrated into the mobile application.

However, the latter could become the key to this watch, in its sales pitch. For that, the company has to develop many more apps, even if they are simple (no one needs complex games or apps on the clock).

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro: conclusion

Taking into account that the price of this watch is 199 euros, this is a very advisable proposal for those who want a smartwatch that does not have to be charged every few days.

Amazfit has not moved to Wear 3.0 or similar systems and that makes it one of the few independent companies on the scene.

Hopefully, this watch is successful enough to enhance its ecosystem of apps, something that would increase its recommend ability even more.
