The account "poloniex" belongs to steemit at least until today!!!
I remember that the founders have created accounts for exchanges to be sure their names will not be taken away...
The account "poloniex" was created by steemit on 8 April...
Guess what happened before about 1 hour...
EXACTLY !!!
The owner key for account "poloniex" has changed today plus they made a test transfer of 0.990 STEEM from "bittrex" to "poloniex"...
That means for me that the account name is now taken away from steemit !!!!!
And it now belongs toooooo.........
well.... who really knows that?

Pretty much been told by the mods not to talk about steem so that kinda sucks.. but it would be nice to see it finally added :D
This is great news for steemit! It has already caught the eye of many into cryptocurrency and is continuing to gain momentum and the value will rise higher with Poloniex for sure! I wonder if a site like Reddit or YouTube will attempt to copy this model. A YouTube where comments actually help improve the experience would be great. Steemit on!
I'm not sure if they'll have a model like this but there is a blockchain being setup for video content creators called LBRY. Short for library. It's in beta still, invite only. It intends to cut out the middle man for artists posting content on the internet. So think youtube without annoying ads and users can pay artists directly.
On steem?
I have seen a little of lbry and it is an interesting concept. I don't think people tend to send optional micropayments to content creators when so much is available free. That is something that makes this site great and engaging. The YouTube model does need an overhaul with how it rewards people especially since you can block ads and this limits revenue to content creators. I wonder if an unmoderated content service like a YouTube will turn into a place I wouldn't want kids to go or what the target audience will be.
