The Purgatory Option. A Parable Of Steem.

A Vision Of Steem

When whales and dolphins and minnows die,
they invariably go to a steeming purgatory.
All are fitted with spoons tied to their hands.
The whales have spoons, large enough, not just to nourish but,
fit for a glutton.
Roman feasters needed the vomitorium when fed with spoons such as these.
The dolphins are fitted with spoons of a more meager volume.
Fed with enough of these and even a whale could stay healthy.
The minnows are fitted with the smallest spoons of all.
Spoons that cannot bring adequate sustenance to even a minnow.
Then the elbows of all are bound, to not permit bending.
These comically bespooned sea creatures are then led to
and seated at, an enormous table,
in a resplendent banquet hall.
When all are seated,
a stew of ambrosia is wheeled out and placed before them all.
The impending results should soon become obvious.
Since no one is able to bend a spoon to their own mouth,
they are forced only to feed their fellows within reach.
Minnows only feeding each other will not do.
They will soon starve.
Dolphins, being fewer, can feed only so many,
before their available volume is tapped out.
It is then for the whales to pick up the slack,
in order to keep everyone healthy.
If they do not and choose only to glut one another,
the minnows and some of the dolphins will expire.
In the midst of a banquet, with corpses left stinking,
who then will enjoy their meal?
Each whale can reach only so many.
We hope that each one will do their part.

This is the purgatory of Steem.
It is not a place in between.
The choices of all,
lend to the rise or the fall.
A heaven or hell,
it's your choice, please choose well.

For corpses at a banquet are a pall.
