In 9gag, the value is all about the daily traffic to the website. The owners profit from their ads, visitors use the website to browse entertaining memes. They appreciate anything that goes viral and have a public appeal regardless if it was original or copied from somewhere else.

Meme: an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by Internet users, often with slight variations. *

In Dmania, it’s not the same. Just like the other Steem platforms, they are no ads to generate profit. All STEEM/SBD come from the reward pool. When someone posts in Dmania they are not targeting visitors. They are targeting investors in STEEM (curators). Each curator have their own values. For me I believe in STEEM's vision in what defines a valuable post. [Bluepaper]

The way I see it, if you want to laugh you can go 9gag. If you want to make laughter (and possibly money) come to Dmania. Dmania platform should be about effort, creativity and quality.

Plagiarism doesn’t require any proof of brain. When we reward low quality and lazy work, we send the wrong message to future users and we make existing users frustrated that their work is not appreciated more than copied memes. This doesn’t bring any value to STEEM in the long run.

The main reason I believe Dmania could be one of the most valuable platforms is that it achieves the vision of STEEM because it brings more users to the platform and it keeps existing users entertained and engaged.. I have been more active in the 10 days I was using Dmania than I was in the 100 days using Steemit. So many users came back to Steem solely to post in Dmania.

Dmania needs constant improvement and tuning but the potential is there ...

So What’s Next for Dmania?

• Citation: there should be an option to include links or sources that can appear by click-to-expand fashion. It’s important that users have this option especially to make it easier for curators.

• Reward Cool Down: after the the new update which limits the upvote and curation to users above 50 reputation. It is now hard to abuse the system by creating new accounts. I think it's time that a longer cool down period is introduced. My suggestion that after each reward the user gets a random cooling period ranging from 1 day to 5 days. This random cooling down period doesn't have to be a total prevention from the vote, we can just deduct voting points to make it harder in this period.

• Delegation of Supporter Power: I see so many inactive supporters or users who don’t want to drain their SP curating in Dmania, or they think their small delegation won't make a difference by its own. We can make use of these unused curation power. Having the option to delegate Supporter Power to another supporter can be very useful and can save us from using steemauto.
