Author Rewards
I have only been here for a very short time but why don't you get author rewards after 7 days? It would seem to me that ends up being a very big reason that people come for a short time and then stop using the platform. Is there a way to allow rewards on old post or at lest allow people to promote their older post to get them seen again. Making rewards on previous post along with the ability to promote your older post to get them back in circulation would greatly improve the platform and get more people here to think more about the long term and building a long term reputation instead of posting anything that they can vote bot and out the door 2 months later.
I would think that if the platform is going to change to be more long term and content bases we would need a way to get our older content out there to newer people that have not seen it on top of being able to still earn from it since it is the same good content just being seen by new people. What does everyone else think about this? If 80k new members join a month after your post shouldn't you be able to earn from that post the same to those new 80k members?
At lest I would like to see the ability to promote your older post and then get a 7 day pay out from the promotion time so you can still circulate your older articles for the new people to see and steemit would get the money from promotions.
Nice Post dear. Looking forward to read your next post
I have followed you, follow me back to be getting up votes from me on your future posts. https://steemit.com/@chokomenia
Thank you.
Yeah, I think it should be a weekly thing where they collect your rewards and you get them every week, but that's just the greedy part of me. It's expensive to run this platform, so I guess we just hustle for a week and then forget about it.
There are a couple of things that I have seen Steemians do to maximise the utility of their posts, and even monetise after 7 days.
I noticed a while ago that @valorforfreedom uses his own external Steem School website to archive and present all of his Steem School lessons, which makes it a lot easier to find and use them. Something like that, combined with the @dbooks.org features are looking like the way forward.
@spiritualmax wrote a really thought-provoking piece about how we might curate our own material and this method is also a good way to monetise older content that is past its 7-day ageing.

I agree with you that it would be great to enable reward pools for older content. I'm not sure how it would work though, and I don't remember why Steemit was set up to not do this, just that there was a reason.
Hope this helps.
To be able to handle the payout rewards. You don't get paid each day, just the 1 day. So, they need a cutoff.
It would be good to have an option to republish an article that is a couple months old if the rewards were below $1.
