Steemit is More Powerful and More Valid than What Many Understand
I just watched ‘The Great Steemit Debate: Tone Vays vs. Jeff Berwick’ by @dollarvigilante. So many valid opinions by both Tone and Jeff. Well done to both of them. I learnt a lot.
See… I’m completely new to crypto-currencies. I come from the CPA/affiliate marketing world and this involves purchasing traffic from a source such as Facebook, Google, Bing and many other platforms. Simple arbitrage… spend $1 and hopefully make more.
Now, the cost of traffic is based on what you’re willing to spend (bid) and how effective your ad is. This in turn puts you in competition with other advertisers on the platform using the same targeting. Get it wrong and you lose money. Get it right and you win. And… it can be very difficult to win at times, making it hard to get your message or product out there. It’s very difficult to get a high-value message out because you have to make money.
Bottom line… your advertising money goes to the house. That’s 100%, unless it’s split with a syndication partner.
It's like money out the window.
Steemit is more powerful and more valid than what many understand
It gives a voice to those with an authentic message. Sure, it might be difficult to get your foot in the door at first, but when you do the momentum will build. Exposure is built on exposure.
Because the content doesn’t need to be monetized like an affiliate ad it’s possible to educate, highlight important issues, evolve belief systems and earn.
There’s a lot of concern over the power that whales hold. Well… what’s going to happen if 1000’s of prolific writers jump in and increase the value of the platform from a social point of view? I personally think this makes Steem a great investment and if the post earnings potential increases it could mean a start to the balancing of power.
Don’t get me wrong, I actually believe that Whales should have the power they do right now as it’s only natural at the beginning stages. They were smart enough to position themselves in the right way, at the right time. The rest of us shouldn’t complain because we have an opportunity. Work hard… do well.
The point is that most of the value lies in the front-end content. Let’s all focus on creating the best content we can. We don’t need to speculate all the time (it is fun), we need to focus on the ‘now’ and use Steemit as a tool for change against a failing system.
I believe we are waking a sleeping giant.
and it's just getting started ... in 3 to 6 months a lot will have changed already
Yes and very exciting to be a part of!
you're supposed to upvote my comment ;-)
once it's being mentioned on 1 of the major networks, traffic will explode
