How does AutoSteem work?
AutoSteem finds content for you that matches your filters, it can be used to autovote or manually vote and review content, and it provides some great views for posts, photos, comments and followers to help you find the content you love on Steemit!
Does AutoSteem Cost Anything?
AutoSteem automatically votes for new posts on my blog (as the creator of Autosteem) at @unipsycho, which is generally only 2-3 a week. It doesn't vote resteems, only original content and I hope you'll agree my posts are worth it, and you'll gain curation rewards from them anyway.

AutoSteem User Guide
The following describes how to get started using AutoSteem and details on more of its features.
Getting Started
Note: AutoSteem does not send ANY data to ANY server to store your settings or keys, it is kept ONLY in your browser, so not shared.
Without a posting key and Steemit ID, Autosteem will monitoring content after 30 minutes. You can use AutoSteem for 30 minutes each time you load the page, but to run continuously, AutoSteem needs your Steemit ID and Posting Key to have unlimited use. Here is how you set that up:
Step 1: Click the Help and Settings in the menu at the top left, and open the options.

Step 2: Enter your steemit ID into the Steemit ID on the options panel.
Step 3: Login to your steemit account to get your posting Key from your wallet. Open your wallet:

Step 4: Click the Permissions Tab:

Step 5: Now, on the right, you need to click "SHOW PRIVATE KEY" for the Posting Key.
This key allows AutoSteem to vote on what you tell it

Ensure you ENTER ONLY the Posting Key, (the top one).
Voting
Voting is where the filters are applied to all new posts in Steemit. Each post is compared against your filter settings and if it matches the content you like, it puts it onto your Vote Queue.
Color Highlighting is used with green and red to show which fields in your Basic Filter Settings match your post. If all are green, then blog is added next to the voteQ.
Vote Queue
The Vote Queue is the second stage of autovoting, and any post will stay there until the advanced filter settings either clear it from the list, or allow it to be autovoted on. If a post does not exceed the limits for Max Votes, Max Comments or Max Promotion, then it will wait the # of minutes set by Minutes Delay before it is voted on. Votes will also stay in the voteQ if you don't have enough voting power maintained.
This Vote Queue is where you can also easily review and additionally remove or immediately upvote the content found by your filters.

Browsing
Browsing allows you to explore steemit content from within AutoSteem WITHOUT having to leave your browser running to remember everything. The browsing has many new options, like bookmarks, custom authors and tags, and beautiful card views for viewing more images in each story. You can set the view and load content on demand, choosing from several enhanced views:

Trending Each of the these can be TAG specific (you can set your tag list)
Author Feeds

View your own feed or the feed of any author (you can set your author list)
Author Blogs
View your own blog or the bloglist of any author (you can set your author list)
Bookmarks
This is really nice, you can view the cards from your own custom bookmarks list to keep your favorite content organized and easy to access.
Vote History
This view lets you explore the votes from your vote history, including autovotes so you can view the content, or go read more and comment.
Blogs View
This lets you view the cards from your blog view, which can have any custom filter applied, to help you view exactly what you want.
Custom Tags and Authors
The views with tag or author selections, allow you customize your own list of favorites for each tags and authors. Each list can be selected from, items added or deleted right from the selection dropdown.

Views

5 main content views can be accessed in the left sidebar menu.
Comment View
All comments from all blogs are streamed into this table so you can easily monitor active threads, for review and to join into the conversations. All comments are shown in pages and you can clear one page at a time from the history, which is useful as you review them.

Mentions View
This automatically tracks all blogs and comments for anyone who uses your username. When they do, it immediately shows in this list with a link to the content. Its a great way to engage with other authors and you immediate know when to jump into a conversation!

On the mentions View, you can now setup keyword mentions to what for any specific keywords!
Bookmarks View
Bookmarks can be added from anywhere within the Browsing mode. Each card view has a bookmark button. You can then view the list of bookmarks here, or from browsing, you can set to view Bookmarks, to load the bookmark cards for viewing.
Blog View
This view shows all published posts as they occur and it makes them extremely fast and easy to review all the new stories since you last checked AutoSteem. It shows a 'card' for each blog entry and conveniently, you see the title, author, starting text, the first 3 images of any post, as well as a number indicating how many more images are in that blog. Here you can upvote the story immediately as well.

Photo View
This view is great for anyone who loves the photos in Steemit, and you can browse all images from all posts in this view.
When you hover over an image, you can see links to the author, the post itself and an option to Upvote the story immediately.

Following / Followers
Followers and Following provide you a way to get a little more info about the users in those lists for your account. They show some details that helps you identify who you want to follow back, or go explore more about.

Also, when you check followers, Autosteem will also tell you who is a new follower or a lost follower since your last check.

Vote Filters
Filters are the key to AutoSteem's automated voting system. These filters give you very precise control over what parameters an author and post must have in order to be voted on by your account. This is a powerful way to help you identify and curate your favorite kind of content and gives the control of those votes to you directly.

Three unique and powerful autovote filters are available to use individually or all combined together.

Autosteem remembers all of you settings, your content in views and any options. AutoSteem caches what it can in your browser, but is still limited. Your options window also defines the amount of memory used and so this can be set in the options under Cache Size.
