RE: What I think should be done with the @steemit account

Very interesting ideas here - @jlordc - I really like the parameters you've chosen for the hypothetical content posts' user accounts - and the post itself - to me both are equally important in deciding which posts for an acct like @steemit to curate.

I do think that 15k in SP is a little steep though as a parameter - if the intention was to help unseen posts and help the newest user then why not 1500 SP or even 500 SP.

As most of us know on Steemit - the platforms payouts processes and distribution on wealth (influence) is so skewed that it may not be fixable at this point.

I try to stay as positive as possible about Steemit.com because I love it and have always wanted the best for the platform.

The reality is now tho that it has become an investment machine for top 1% of it's users with a ROI beyond comprehension.

I don't have a solution while allowing the platform to operate - my only ideas come by means of putting a 'freeze' to the platform to reallign itself, it's users, it's payout pool, and to rid itself of allowing any type of 'bot' whatsoever

How can a 'social platform' community have over 30% of it's users activity derived from algorithm based boots and money generating bots? image

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

I think going lower than 1500 or even 500 SP might exclude a lot of accounts. I don't have the numbers but I believe the majority of serious bloggers, active ones and people who really believe on what this platform can do but have no big initial investment lies between 500SP to 5kSP, so going lower than 1500 might seem unfair to some. :)
