Yes, it does need to change. And WHO needs to change? Everyone! All their behavior is what does this. There are still whales who upvote for certain people and certain types of content because it's a "fun" topic that will attract people to the post... but it's not very important in life at all....

I wrote about the problem that for Steemit to succeed, we need to make it succeed. IT's all up to us. If people want to be lazy and upvote the popular crap, then that's what Steemit is going to be... Everyday I got through the "new" section and look for posts. How many people actually do that?
