Can I Earn Tokens on Steemit by Posting Regularly? - Q from Quora

Posting in Steemit regularly isn’t an assurance of earning Steem tokens but one of the ways to possibly earn Steem. By posting and commenting, you can earn Steem tokens if they garner votes with considerable vest. So if you’re post gets voted and the votes you receive are having considerable amount of Steem Power, you should earn Steem tokens. The more votes you receive and the bigger the vests your voters are, the more tokens you’ll also receive after the payout window (which is 7 days).

But earning Steem does not only come from posting. They can only come from :

• Curating - post payouts are split 45–45–10 (authors-curators-steemdao), which means 45% of the post payouts are distributed to curators. If you have a good amount of Steempower, you should be earning good curation rewards but you can still able to maximize curation if you vote within the 5-minute voting window.

• Running as a witness - though this maybe a difficult job, Witnesses are paid every block you process. Getting into the top 20 witnesses gives you the right to be prioritized in processing blocks. In order for you to achieve that, you should be voted by users via Witness Voting.

• Participating in Contests - some users host contests that offers Steem as a reward. It can also be another alternative way to bag Steem. Under #contest tag in Steemit, you can see almost all of the current and running contests there.
  Participating in dApps - Steem blockchain is a home of decentalized applications and earning DApps tokens (we call it tribe tokens) can help you earn Steem by converting them. With the coming of SMTs and communities, more of these opportunities will come.
