Is Steemit Legit or Not?

Dear Steemit Community
So I'm New to steemit as you see in the question. I have been wondering if this site is legit or not. I've done lots of research and watch a lot a videos about it, some are informing and some are very sketchy. The comments on the videos are 50/50 people saying its a scam and other saying its great so I don't know what to think.
Well my real question is - If you make money(i'm not on here only for money I just see it as a extra) how would you take it out and where is all this money coming from?

    New member here as well. As far as I could learn about Steemit, everything seems pretty legit here.
    The STEEM currency seems to be growing, this website is quite complete in terms of informations about its concept, community looks interesting to me.
    Worth giving it a try !
    I would love to get information about its money management as well.

    Dont worry it is legit. You can withdraw your steems to poloniex.com or bittrex.com websites. You can also use some instant exchange sites like blocktrades.us.
