Japanese horror game - "Kokkuri-san" Do you dare to play?

The Japanese ouija, or at least very similar, the game is based on invoking a spirit to ask questions about the future. He is very famous and respected among the students, so much that they have reported many cases of hysteria and disorder because of this game. Teachers often punish students who are playing Kokkuri-san.

It is said that it is less dangerous to play Kokkuri-san than the ouija, since in it (kokkuri-san) spirits of the Shinto religion are involved.

The name of the spirit to be invoked is Kokkuri-san. It is said to be an animal spirit, born of a mixture between a fox, a dog and a raccoon. Each of these animals provides different characteristics to Kokkuri-san: as a fox he can be a good teacher, but also a trickster; as a dog it is loyal and protective; and as a raccoon, it can be very naughty, but it also brings good luck. This is all Kokkuri.

Those who play this, usually ask more or less banal questions, but it is worth remembering that there are some questions whose answers are better not to know.

How to play Kokkuri-san:

First of all you need at least two extra people who also participate in the game, a sheet of paper, a pen and a coin.

  1. Grab the sheet of paper (which should be blank) and draw a "torii" or traditional Japanese door like this one. It is not necessary that you try hard; If the symbol you draw has that shape, it's enough.

  2. Then draw it on the top of the page, and with red ink. On one side of the torii, write "YES", and on the other side, "NO". Below this, write a row of numbers, from 0 to 9, and three rows of letters, from A, to Z.

  3. Open the door or a window of the room where you are going to play, so that Kokkuri-san can pass. The torii symbolizes an entrance to a Shinto temple and the spirit can access this world through it.

  4. Place the coin on the torii. Each one should place a finger on the coin.
Call the spirit saying these words aloud: "Kokkuri-san, Kokkuri-san, if you are here, please move this coin".

  5. You can ask the questions you want to Kokkuri-san. Move the currency over the letters and numbers to answer you.

  6. To finish the game, you have to ask Kokkuri-san to leave this way: "Kokkuri-san, Kokkuri-san, please go home". The coin will move to the "Yes", and then it will return to the torii, where it will stay still.

  7. When you are sure that Kokkuri-san has left, you have to destroy the sheet of paper. You can break it into pieces or burn it. In addition, you have to spend the currency with which you carried out the game before the end of the next day.

Kokkuri-san is safer than the ouija. But it is not advisable to play it. Also, remember that Kokkuri-san is in part a joker spirit, and he might not take you seriously.
