Typical Nigeria: Ignorance or God? #deathsthatcouldhavebeenprevented

IMG_20180629_075038.jpgOver the past one week in my country Nigeria a lot of tragic happenings have taken place. FIrst we have the OJUELEGBA bridge incident, OUR loss at the FIFA worldcup group stage, then we have the gun men killings in Plateau state mong other incidents, but two of which I want to point out today: Lagos-Ibadan express way fire outbreak and the death of famous celebrity Dbanj a.k.a Dbangalee's son.

So this is exactly what happened yesterday. Within the early afternoon hours, a tanker full of petrol seemingly to be coming from ibadan or from somewhere far down the west was entering Lagos and at Otedola bridge at berger in lagos state, something tragic happened. The petroL truck was trying to climb a hill of the bridge but it ciuldn't because either the break or the engine was bad. It couldn't climb so the tanker began to reverse and reversing it would have been an issue considering other cars that came behind it so the driver decided to turn its head around so that the tanker will stop reversing but guess what! that didn't work out, it only caused its fall. Now you can begin to imagine what that would have caused: I mean a tanker full of oil, petrol for that matter. Ofcourse a fire outbreak started and several cars around it caught fire within the span of 1 minute, where some people were able to escape the outbreak and save their lives while some were trying to save the life of their cars instead.

About 54 cars were worded to be burnt beyond repair and nine bodies roasted in the fire were recovered and also 4 people sustained serious Injuries- I hope this is true because there was a report saying a school bus fUll of school children were also caught in the fire.

So sadly my country is one in which a petroleum tanker runs through a city containing 18 million people during the daytime, causing terrible, i mean TERRIBLE traffic, when there are rules that tankers containing petrol or gas or kerosene should move from 10 p.m. at night to 4 a.m. Let's now imagine, had this tanker obeyed that rule or regulation will there be no such damage or casualty as this.

Secondly my country is one in which money is spent on other irrelevant things not worrying about the lives of people. Our president, President Muhammad Buhari has refused to listen to the advice of buildingunderground pipes to allow safe passage of petrol or gas or kerosene. Instead we rely on old engines of tankers with failing breaks. Wevare practically living with death traps. Now a careless, rough and ignorant driver will even contest road space with these petrol carrying tankers.

This scenario represented in the image above is a typical example of what happens in my country everyday. When an accident happens, every one around comes with their mobile gadgets to take pictures or selfies of the incident instead of trying to help. We have now become slaves of the social media and some peoplle are willing to take the advantage of accidents to trend on instagram and facebook and other famous blog pages. I am bringing this out because it is becoming very appalling.

These are some people reported to have escaped the fire outbreak but narrowly. As you can see they are badly injured.
Now we are calling on the name of God to help us out of this situation that he did not create. God can and will only use us when we ourselves are ready.
Proverbs 29: 2b says : when the wicked rule, the people mourn

We need good government! We have to stand and fight! Incase you do not know, the fulani herdsmen attack is because of COWS!! My country is so backward now that cows are even reared on the streets (kano, kaduna, katsina etc) And because other settlements disagreed (as the cows destroyed their large farm plantations containing legumes and tubers ) the herdsmen refused to comply. They started fighting and states started fighting them back. People have lost lives over the issues of COWS! Where is Buhari?

Do we blame God or do we blame wicked people who pay gunmen to attack settlements and small villages for example (Plateau state). The so called Governor even claimed to be in a ,eeting in Abuja while Plateau state was in peril. A mob protesting gathered at his place today. Where is he? His actions do not prove that he cares. We need better government. GET YOUR PVC AND VOTE! Let us vote out bad government.

We are now the poorest country. A land that produces what provied 70% of her income is the poorest. What a shame! NIGERIANS! STAND AND FIGHT!!!
