I feel you have some really good points in the post. I share a lot of your concerns. I also feel as initial believers or testers of this site, it is a large part on us where to take this. I think steemit is just the platform setup and released into the wild. The people here are the ones that can make it whatever it is they want out of it. There are apps and widgets you can create and use, curate content, and spread the word to get as many people involved as possible. The one thing that got me instantly hooked about this site was the flexibility of it. We can't have it both ways. If it is distributed network and every one has shares (Steem Power) involved then everyone needs to step up and start creating apps/content and spreading the word! Let's keep up the good work and not get discouraged. This thing has so much potential!
