Youtube Upgrades the User Interface July 20th! Is YouTube Feeling The Steem?

As Steemit gains more and more users, and most users are using youtube as their video host, I wonder if this new interface is Youtube trying to upgrade in a desperate attempt to keep users on their platform?

Maybe a desperate attempt to throw out a"New shinny thing" to keep people from switching?

If your not aware of the update, I made a short video about it below.

What's your thoughts on this new move by Youtube?

Do you think this is an attempt to keep users from switching to Steemit, or just another un-useful feature added to a already successful site?
