I'll answer these 2 questions from my perspective and experience after one year since I've joined the community.
I expect your answers in the comments! :)
I think its no secret that most people join the platform with some hope to earn money for their creations. My first post made about 5$ and I was hooked forever. Its super exciting to check on your post after an hour or so, to see what people think about it, is it well accepted etc, etc. Besides that, you can go ahead and chat with people all day long, reading, be learning on a variety of topics. And the best part, again, earn a dollar by doing it.
Truly fascinating!
But it's not easy, especially now with so many people on the platform, with so many bid-bots floating around even some of the best posts don't get the needed exposure and attention. Whales and dolphins are bombed with comments and it's understandable it's hard to track them all and interact with so many people at the time.
It takes patience!
To find and connect with the right people, similar to finding your soulmate. It might happen any second or it will take a lifetime, you won't know until you try it. A lot of different communities doing their thing on Steem blockchain and I'm sure there's something for everyone to pursuit here.
I've been here for a little over a year now, in my humble opinion I think I did alright so far. Coming from a noob background it took me a lot of sleepless nights to learn stuff about Steemit, creating content from scratch, hosting contests and just trying my best to be a part of this community.
Currently followed by 3314 people, the fam!
People mostly think they need a ton of followers to earn something but that's not the case at all. You need the right followers, Steemians with some steem power on their hands who will appreciate your work and dedication. But basically, you need to prove yourself first before that happens. Don't lose the hunger and give up!
Mine Steem with your mind!
If I repeat my last years score I'm a happy man, its unlikely tho but see the bigger picture for a second. The prices of cryptocurrencies are going up each year, every Steem we earn now could be worth 5x, 10x a year from now. Literally if not more, I'm very optimistic about that statement.
Power up or die trying!
My superior goal for the future is accumulating as much steem power as possible and trying to make my way up the rankings. Meeting more cool people, making connections all over the world and learn more about the crypto space. My dream is to be financially independent (Not like Carlos Matos:), if I could earn about 30$ per day online I could definitely make it happen, and I will make it happen one day. Gotta stay positive folks!
So for me I started using steemit as one of my friends told me about it, and how we can actually earn to post, wether itโs a blog, social media style, information, or anything really! I donโt use social media much but this sounded and is awesome!
For the future, I mean, I would love to become financially free, and live from my online income and have a like outside of the systems clasps ! Thatโs the dream and I will get there, we all will! Iโve only been here for 6 months and itโs going steadily, but the more effort I put in the more I will get back!
Great to see you post after being here for a year, I will do the same in 6 months time and then who knows where we could both be at in the next few years! ๐
Hey! Thanks for kind words and I'm happy that we agree on stuff:)
I wish you all the best on your journey to freedom, never give up on it no matter how hard it gets sometimes. I see people dreaming about whale status, chill, mo money mo problems:) I just need some of that gold in the middle, to enjoy my short freaking life:))
Cheers to that, all the best to us man! Looking forward to that post!
Thanks so much bro, we WILL get there! Canโt wait for a few years time when we will see it too:)
Exactly, Iโm not bothered about the โwhaleโ status making 100s a day, dude if I was making $10-20 a day thatโs a goal I would be so happy with! Soon..
You have done a great job. It requires a lot of work to get started on Steemit, to get in contact with the right people... and it might be a price few people are willing to pay. But, it is a very interesting ride and I am enjoying it a lot myself.
And yes, the dream is to become financially independently (I love the Carlos Matos videos... whenever I feel in a bad mood I just watch Carlos Matos, and all signs up bad mood are gone)! It might be far of into the future as of now, but it is there!!
Thank you very much for the nice compliments! Happy to hear you're having fun here, that's the main point of it! I dunno why but Carlos becoming a MEME makes me sad, he is such a harmless fool:)
Yea man, that's the way to do it - if you have the funds to buy food and shelter, power up the rest!
Things ain't looking to rosy right now, probably means it's about the time to buy some SP. Sadly I'm not in that position, so it's blogging to freedom for me. Good luck!
Awesome post man and great answers!

Same here brotha!
Let's hit the road! Maybe we'll pick up some hot Polish ones on the way :D
I'm looking forward to having 1000 SP.
I'm here for the long term and hoping for the best. And I hope some competitor doesn't spoil the fun for us.
I think Steemit is here to stay, there will be some hype about new platforms if they come popping out... You keep grinding and shot for the stars!
100% UV & RS... power up.. power up... power up
