Notification just uses a simple shell script to trigger GPIO, not using steem-piston. But yes, SteemPi can run steem-piston, you definitely can setup a voting bot on it. I am actually trying to build one myself, just for fun.
sweet, keep us posted about the progress, it would be easier to follow your footsteps when I try to do it.
