Information on how to properly use the "Steem Bot" that is not being abused and how it works?
What is Steem Bot
The Steem Bot is a software application or software agent that runs automatic scripts on the internet or blockchain.
In Steemit the most common use of bots is for upvoting posts but there are other popular bots running on the platform, like @cheetah which automatically finds similar content helping report presumable plagiarism.
A "bot" may be slightly different from a "script." Often, bots are watching for events that act as the scripts run once to execute a particular operation. For example, a bot can watch new posts and vote on them while a script can vote in a particular post and stop. This difference becomes important because a bot can run for a long time, looking for some criteria.
A simple "bot" will only be made in a limited set of conditions. For example, "if there is a new post, it will upvote."
How to use properly the Steem Bot?
I will share my own way of using Steem Bot so listen carefully. The best use of "Steem Bot" is if your post has upvote more than 5 SBDs. And before you use BOTs, check and observe first if the "Payout" is decreasing or increasing.
If your posts reach over 5 SBDs and your "Payout" decreases, do not proceed because you're just losing SBD including SP.
But If your posts have no value or reach over 5 SBDs and your "Payout" increasing, I suggest proceeding.
I have a reminder of using "Bot" because you may not notice that you're abusing it.
Use only one to two Bots in one post within 24 hours, and be sure that the posts are exempted from Bots and not just an image only. Otherwise, it's possible that @grumpycat finds you abusing using Bots and downvote your blogs.
List of Bots that Automatically refund invalid bids and the vote value is around 300 SBD above
BOT | Min Bid SBD | Max Post Age |
---|---|---|
@upme | 3.50 | 3.5 Days |
@postpromoter | 2.00 | 3.5 Days |
@buildawhale | 3.00 | 3 days |
@booster | 0.00 | 2.5 Days |
@boomerang | 1.50 | 2.5 Days |
Example of how bid-based voting Bots works
The return of SBD is depended on how much you give to BOTS. And when you see above, they have the minimum bid amount and maximum day of the post to accept your bids.
The wise user of "BOTS" should be observed because of its price changes when there are lots of people joining.
This is my tip to you. Please wait until the last minute before you bid so you know how much SBD you will give. Because you may lose your SBD if you are in a hurry.
Let say I will use @upme bots and I will send 30 SBD for my post.
US DOLLAR VALUE: $93.22
TOTAL VOTE VALUE: $1,254.54 = 305.45 SBD + 83.66 STEEM
After 25% Curation: $940.91 = 229.08 SBD + 62.74 STEEM
But if joining the BID is too many, they will divide the total vote value and this what will happen.
US DOLLAR VALUE: $93.22
TOTAL VOTE VALUE: $120.09 =29.23 SBD + 8.02 STEEM
After 25% Curation: $90.07 = 21.92 SBD + 6.01 STEEM
I hope these words will help you all.
