BE SURE TO TREAT YOURSELF (DAY 3)
The holiday season is here! Time for turkey, spending time with family and reflection. As the year quickly comes to an end, take a moment to honor the experiences you have participated in thus far personally, spiritually and professionally. What have you done to expand your growth?
I encourage you to ask yourself S.M.A.R.T (specific, measurable, achievable, results-focused, time-bound) questions to prepare for the year ahead. Oftentimes, it is easy to look at the negative. As we move into the holiday season, here are my three tips in gratitude.
Start With Your Health – Treat Yourself
Health is wealth. Where are some areas of your life you wish to improve? Self-improvement is the first step. According to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, “running just five minutes a day could add years to your life.” Grab a friend (or go solo) and get moving!
- Invest In A Hobby You Enjoy
Tap into your creative side. Life is not only about overcoming challenges. It is about having fun, taking risks and being passionate and invested in your goals. Hobbies are a quick and easy way to take a small step in a more exploratory direction.
- Disconnect For 15 Minutes A Day
Always being connected isn’t good for your focus or your ability to be your best self. We are inundated with a world of constant information and obligations, readily available at our fingertips. Try engaging in the practice of meditation for at least 15 minutes a day, gradually increasing the time to your preference. “Meditation” can sound like a trend but, it should be a daily practice for your self-improvement.
Consider these tips as a way to put your best foot forward. Your happiness and growth begin with you and affect those around you. Participate in our 30 days of gratitude challenge on Instagram by following us @boatengcreatives
