RE: What Deserves To Be On Trending? What Is Trash and What Is Not?
So being on the trending page for you is synonymous with, a "good" post?
That is precisely what he is saying, there are many post in the trending that are "trash".
And then, what for me is good for you can be garbage, a single person can not have in their hands the power to say if something is garbage or not. We already know what this is called, freedom of expression is necessary, suggestions can be given without imposing and punishing.
What do you think about this? Because with your question I do not know what position you are in, and apologize for my bad English.
Trending content is something that is receiving high ratings. This "good or bad" nonsense is irrelevant. Trending content is something that is making people look, then more people, and more people. This happens naturally. More and more people discover they ENJOY something, and it starts to trend. Again, good and bad mean nothing.
Many of you don't understand the business you're in.
If one person cannot decide something is trash(that's true) then another cannot decide what's good. When someone buys their votes and pushes their content to the top of trending, that is ONE person deciding if something is good or bad. That's not how a trending page works. These INDIVIDUALS are pushing poor quality content UP, and someone wants to flag it DOWN.
My position is: this place has a flaw, people exploit the flaw in design, then pout when things don't go their way. The flags are there to help prevent these things from happening. It's not about good or bad content. It's more about people exploiting a flaw.
Trending content is something popular with the people. I can look at the trending page on Youtube if I feel like it. I won't enjoy everything there, but it's a good indication of what many people seem to be enjoying at the time. Those trending videos are not in those slots because that account paid for it to be there. The biggest mistake people here are making with their content is paying for it to be on the trending page. That action typically makes their content unpopular rather than popular and they are paying money to shoot themselves in the foot simply because they do not understand this business.
I agree.
