Curating Reward Question
I've rightfully upvoted 3 of the top 10 trending posts in the past 24 hours in their very early stages. Infact, I was the 6th upvoter on post that recieved 100s of upvotes.
Some of those posts have paid out, but I have not received any curator rewards.
Does anyone have an answer for that?
Not complaining. Just curious.
If you are a minnow, you only really get curating rewards if you have voted around the 25-30 minute mark. Earlier than that, and the reward goes mainly to the author, after that, and you probably lose out to the bots.
If I were you I'd concentrate on writing articles to build up your steem power (half the reward is steem dollars and half steem power).
That is my understanding as well after 30 minutes all voting rewards go to curator. Voting in the first few minutes is pointless
Can anybody tell me where to get data on this? I find the early voting explanation hard to believe since it makes no sense to me whatsoever

the answer is that the curation reward is proportional to not only the order of your vote but also on your steem power, with an SP of 46 your reward even if you vote early is negligible, marginal, nada.
In other words, only people with a lot of SP get any curation rewards
