The world's largest aircraft-Airlander 10 airship first left the hangar

6 August 2016 the world's largest aircraft — 92-metre aircraft-Airlander 10 airship first flight out of the hangar at the airport Cardington in Bedfordshire (Britain) to prepare for flight tests.

The development of a unique aircraft-airship for nine years in a British company, Hybrid Air Vehicles, with initial involvement of the us military. It is assumed that a giant aircraft can be used for communication, transportation, surveillance, humanitarian missions and passenger transport.

On the morning of 6 August Airlander 10 barely squeezed into the gates of the hangar, and then it within 30 minutes transported to the destination. It was the first public appearance of the ship worth £25 million, which was given the name Martha Gwyn. Inspection of engines, generators and all systems of the aircraft-the dirigible was completed a week earlier, now starting ground tests. The date of the first flight has not yet been announced. The machine is about 18 feet longer than the largest passenger aircraft Boeing 747.

Aircraft-airship with helium filling is able to carry a payload up to 10 tons, and to fly without landing up to five days in a row with a team on Board and unmanned — up to three weeks. Maximum speed — 150 km/h.
