I think it brings up a really good point though..the nature of Steem in it's current form means you always have to focus on putting out new content! But there really is a HUGE place in the internet for rock solid content that never expires...for example, tutorials, recipes, how tos, diy stuff, advice...all kinds of things. If you spend a ton of time compiling something that is useful for years and years on end, it'd be cool for that to continue paying out.

Indeed this is true, but the difficulty is in the implementation of allowing for that to happen, while simultaneously preventing abuse.
