Editing a post after payout

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

We should be permitted to edit a post after payout, as a means to correct errors. I have noticed I made a mistake in a post of mine and I would like for it to be factually correct. However after payout the editing process is locked. I can see the pros of this policy but it has also some extreme negatives in that mistakes are locked in the post forever. There is no such other medium where corrections can not be made to fix mistakes.

I should also be able to continue to edit and improve the post to make its content more understandable, or better phrased for those that may come across it in the future. Hell you could even turn future payouts off if it were necessary to allow such a function. It is better to be correct then to make money.

This would be a great feature. Maybe they will implement it as I have seen many people that don't like this part.

"Hell you could even turn future payouts off if it were necessary to allow such a function. It is better to be correct then to make money." I have the same feeling about this..

It could also be an option you are presented at the beginning of your post, if you choose it to be editable after 1st payout, you will not have future payouts. If you opt it to be non-editable, then you are good with future payouts.
Or something along those lines.
Although would like to hear from a more knowledgeable person what it could mean for the platform.
