LONELINESS

"Then they all deserted him and fled." Mark 14:50

Loneliness is ugly. Nobody wants it, but we've all suffered it once. It is a company that we do not want but that we can not avoid. But among all the solitudes of the planet, there was someone who suffered more than anyone. Jesus Christ was a specialist in solitude. And Mark, writing what Peter dictated to him about the events of Gethsemane, summed up in six words the terrible impact of this reality.

A few hours before, the Master had anticipated it and in the safety of the upper room, everyone rejected the possibility of flight. No disciple took charge that they could fail their Master. All promised fidelity at all costs. However, a couple of hours later, in the gloom of the dangerous mountain, and in front of the mob with sword, sticks and torches, one of the disciples wounded the sword in spite of the fact that Jesus had announced their surrender, then of this the eleven men ran away.

No one looked back, nor stayed to see what happened they ran to save their lives and to hide. And although many criticize the attitude of the disciples, if it had been in this place, very surely it would have done the same.

The sad thing is that what we censure of the eleven disciples is what we repeated two thousand years later in our daily life. There is no mount of olive trees, no peat with a sword, no teacher giving me meekly. But we choose to abandon Jesus Christ and run after our desires, urgencies, whims and desires.

So it is possible that they leave you who said they were your friends, you may be judged a bad trick and the moment you need them you realize that you are alone, it is possible that the person who had promised you eternal love, now no longer interests, it is possible that by going through a fall and you no longer have what you had to share you find yourself in loneliness and the misfortune of knowing that everything was for interest.

But since we are less exposed, nobody notices. Except God, He again stands in the garden of heaven watching with sadness as we run away with his back to us. What things make you abandon a friend who needs you? What things today make you abandon Jesus Christ? They can be logical and necessary things like study, family, work, fatigue, sadness, sports, fear that you have not received what you expected for any reason.

But in reality it is that if you analyze your behavior of the last two weeks surely on several occasions, you did the same as the disciples.

God bless you greatly

Hey Junfer, thank you for that reflection.

I would like to add that there is a difference between loneliness and solitude.
Jesus chose solitude for his last moments before the romans took him. And I want to emphasize that solitude is a very important gift for everyone that wants to have a life that is truly theirs, in solitude we find a space to speack to god, to any god you believe in. It is also an oportunity to speak with oneself, to do a review of the path one has taken, and maybe take a few steps back to get on the "right" track.

Thanks again for sharing and god bless you.

Hi, luiscarcampos thanks for adding to this article, if there are times when it is necessary to be alone, separate, to intimidate with God. Also Moments where we can review our actions, and correct our steps. Moments where we take a repiro to the daily to continue advancing in our growth of life, But of those moments the most necessary is to move away to have intimacy with our Heavenly Father.

The other type of loneliness is when we feel that the people we love most leave us alone. Or friends in any situation give us back.
But we children of God should not worry about this kind of loneliness because our father will always be on our side to support and comfort us. Let's create God.

God bless you greatly

if loneliness creates isolation, that is dangerous.

hello abrish thank you for commenting, if we feel that we are in that solitude, should gain space and intimate with our Heavenly Father God, who will give us answers will comfort us and be at our side. Not letting this loneliness create us disturbance in our lives

God bless you greatly

Loneliness away from God is harmful from my point of view, since the human being should be close to his creator, just as the baby is convenient in his first days of life and then most of life is close to his Biological parents.

But it is hard for us to understand that we turn our back on the Lord because of our personal interests or insecurities. By not trusting God so much, we begin to look at the natural and corruptible.

Jesus on one occasion said: this is necessary without stopping doing the other referring to the subject of tithes and mercy, but it is applicable. We urgently need a spiritual balance.

Hi, brother, jeanglou thanks for commenting on important comments. If there are times we need, it is alone to become intimate with our Heavenly Father and seek a spiritual balance before any adverse situation in our Life.

God bless you greatly

Amen @junfer, you're welcome, although we know many things, it is always necessary to meditate again on them since humans tend to forget quickly.

Loneliness is a good companion for many, it is so much that they distance themselves from people and their families. This is not so good, but for some it is beneficial, they are like wanderers who walk in different ways seeing the best they can get according to their convictions.

Good written @junfer greetings God bless you.
