General Purpose Steem

Lately I started playing around with SteemJs, an library that allows to access the Steem blockchain from Javascript. So it empowers developers to build websites that display content based on transactions.

But sadly to create interesting applications that users can interact with there would have to be a way to initiate transactions automatically based upon other transactions. Right now the only way to do so is by creating a central server that interacts with the blockchain. Not that easy to implement...

Surely Steem is not designed as general purpose blockchain, but I would enjoy developing Smart Contracts for the Steemit community.

Is there any application that you would like to see on the steem platform?
