Why You Need To Use SmartSteem

I stumbled across and started to utilize the services of SmartSteem at the beginning of 2018. This Steem app, created by @therealwolf, can do a lot to help users grow the amount of STEEM they hold over time with services like delegation, selling your vote, buying votes, or using their bid bot.

It is everyone's goal to grow the amount of STEEM they have, either in liquid form or Steem Power. While there is no way to become a whale overnight, services that pay out dividends for your support are a great way to make your Steem Power work for you.

Vote Selling

If you are looking to auto upvote top-notch content, than the vote selling is a great option. Not only do you get to vote on posts by users that are known for quality content, but you also get a reward on top of the standard curation rewards.

In the web app, you can choose what level of quality you want SmartSteem to use your vote on. The ranks range from everyone up to what they deem to be excellent content. You can have your content rated by a member of the team via a submission.

Once a team member reads over your work and determines the level of consistency, they rank your content between one and three stars. One star is equal to good content, two stars are great content, and the maximum three stars signifies excellent material. You can view all the rated users on the SmartSteem whitelist page.

When you sell your vote, you can choose the level at which the service stops using your voting power. The default is 50%, and this is adjustable by you. I have mine set at 67% to leave room for my manual curation for anyone that is not using SmartSteem at this time.

You are also able to set the level of profit sharing from the SmartSteem account. This level is the amount of curator rewards earned from the account that gets divided among the voters based on the percent they set. This seems to also takes the voting power into consideration for payouts.

Buying An Upvote

Buying an upvote is a much better option than using a bid bot, in my opinion. There is no risk of losing out on a bid because someone comes in with a significant bid amount that would push your bid into the unprofitable range. When you buy a vote from SmartSteem, you are purchasing a vote from everyone who sells their votes through the web-app.

Of course, some people only sell their votes to users that have some level of verification when it comes to the quality of the posts. So make sure to write the best content you can and submit your account for rating as we mentioned above. The more stars, the more upvotes you may receive for the users selling their votes.

How To Buy Votes

Enter the Steemit post like in this field;
Enter your account name here;
Enter the amount of Steem or SBD you want to send;
Select SBD or STEEM,
Click!
Make sure to look at this price. Sending more USD value in STEEM or SBD will not yield more in upvotes than what is displayed here.

Bid For A Vote

Bidding for a vote works the same as most bid bots on Steem. You send the desired payment, and get a percentage of the 100% upvote from the bot. This percentage is determined by the number of other bids and how much each of those bids is worth.

If you want to use this, or any other bid bot, you should reference the Steem Bot Tracker. This site is the best place to make sure your investment will not go to waste. Created by @yabapmatt, SteemBotTracker lists many bots in order of the amount of time till their next voting round. Most bots are on a 2.4-hour cycle, to power up to 100%, before voting on the next set of bidders' content.

How Much To Bid

How much to bid is entirely up to the user. For a minnow and someone new to Steemit, there is not a lot of SBD in their account yet. To make these bots most effective, sending at least 10 SBD at current market value is excellent. If everyone starts to only send 10 SBD to the most massive bots, this will increase that number, though.

If you want to send the minimum amount to several bots, go for it, but make sure to do your research on each bot. Also, be sure they are still profitable when you bid. No matter how much you choose to send, if it is more than the "Max Profitable Bid" it's better just to hold.

Delegate to SmartSteem

Delegating to SmartSteem adds some of your Steem Power to the bid bot, so there are more rewards per vote. After delegating, the SmartSteem account shares 95% of the profit made from curation rewards with everyone how delegates. I believe this is based on the amount the user delegates as a percentage of all delegates. This is how most bots thank their delegates for the contributions.
